One of the first things to do when planning out a new website is to work out all of the content that will be in the site. You then divide that up into sections and then into various levels of navigation. Navigation menus have really important role in any website. For big sites full with a lot of pages and articles, drop down menus and tabs are popular because they can make it a lot more easier to navigate and move through site, also you can save space on website displaying content on dynamic tabs. Out of these examples I think the very website is most successful with handling a large number of options, the division between the different sections is obvious and well spaced, I think many of the other examples here that handle more than one column of content look quite cramped, for example the Boden website and Philadelphia and the countryside both look like they need more space.

I like the simple designs of the Artska and Selena Gomez designs, but I also like the textures used in the Bern unlimited design. Thanks for sharing these examples.

Thanks for putting these together, they are all great inspiration. I think the design at the top with the balloons is brilliant. That menu is like non-other.
